So true, I feel this! I solo traveled and hiked in Banff earlier this year… my fav trip of the year ! Met another female solo traveler on the trail and we hiked all day together. So good to find kindred souls 💗
Solo travel always makes me feel more confident and sure of myself! It’s amazing to see what navigating new situations and challenges can do and love the note about friendships too! Travel friendships are something special.
Thank you for sharing your adventures. Finding friendship on the road happens when you need it the most, maybe not when you think you do, but when the world thinks so. I love your travel stories. I often wonder what it would have felt like if I would have gone home.
You're so right about friendships on the road, they come along at exactly the right time. And thank you! I'm so happy to hear you like my writing 🥰 Home is where you feel most comfortable - it's a concept and a flexible one.
When I tell my female friends in the US that I love solo travel their response is often something like "I as a woman would never travel alone in X non-European country." When you hear something like this, what do you usually say? I think you're trying to argue that experience matters more than feelings like fear. But many people treat fear as more valid than experience.
This is spot on!
